Water Research Fellowship Program
The Water Research Fellowship Program at Rabigh Research & Innovation Water Oasis is designed to accelerate practical, high-impact solutions to global and regional water challenges. By uniting talented researchers from around the world with Rabigh’s world-class laboratories, technical expertise, and collaborative innovation ecosystem, the program aims to transform pioneering ideas into real-world applications.
As a national innovation hub and a key driver of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, Rabigh plays a strategic role in advancing sustainable water technologies. Through strong connections with academia, industry, and government, the program addresses critical challenges such as energy-efficient desalination, advanced brine management, AI-driven water system optimization, and wastewater reuse.
Purpose
- Foster innovative water-related research that delivers tangible environmental, social, and economic impact.
- Strengthen global and local collaboration in water science and technology.
- Bridge the gap between laboratory research and large-scale, real-world implementation.
Objectives
- Provide researchers with full access to advanced laboratories — including Membrane, Analytical, Advanced Materials, and Surface & Thermal Analysis Labs — as well as pilot-scale RO and nanofiltration testing facilities.
- Offer specialized mentorship, technical support, and opportunities for prototyping, validation, and commercialization of research outputs.
- Encourage research in strategic focus areas such as the circular economy, eco-friendly treatment solutions, AI-based monitoring systems, and resource recovery from water streams.
- Support researchers in securing funding, producing high-quality publications, and building professional networks.
Open to postgraduate students, faculty, and professionals, this six-month residency provides unmatched opportunities to contribute to global water sustainability while working within a vibrant R&D community. Participants will also benefit from specialized training programs, structured mentorship, and formal recognition upon completion.
